Just arrived, this stunning Georgian mahogany serpentine chest of drawers. With superb satinwood inlaid motifs to the frieze and a rosewood cross banded top. Each drawer bears the stamp of Michael Butler antiques Abbey Street. Michael Butler was a cabinet maker in late 19th century Dublin who specialised in reproducing period Irish furniture but in the early 20th century he also operated an antique gallery at his address on Abbey Street retailing only the finest quality antiques. The stamps on this piece indicate it was sold by M.Butler in the early 1900's. This piece was fully restored and repolished at Vintage. Dimensions 47"w x 23"d x 43.5"h.

This rather interesting piece arrived this week. It is a Georgian mahogany wall mounted candle box. It would have been found hanging in an 18th century hall or landing to keep a reserve of candles nearby and now that it has been restored at Vintage it will make a rather unique conversation piece.
