Our U12 Girls enjoyed a great day at the FAI Regional Blitz today in Aileach. The girls had qualified as one of the best two teams in the Inishowen Sector . The first game against Illistrin was a battle from the start . Carn tock the lead through a brilliant corner ball with Ailish Doherty fired the ball into the back of the net. The girls where unlucky at the start of the second half to concede a goal but the girls showed great defensive skills and strength against a very physical team. The second game against Toobermore from Sligo saw the Carn girls have a quite first half going 3-0 down. The Carn girls came our fighting in the second half and proved to have the better chances at times putting their opponents under pressure and getting rewarded with 2 goals. Courtney Gallagher slotting home the first goal and Ellie long getting on the end of a great pass from the mid field to send her on a solo run to strike low and hard past the keeper For the second. The girls showed great drive and determination to get two goals back and battled to the final whistle. The final score of 6-2 didn't reflect there overall performance . They played as a team and proved great representives of the club. Thanks to Tegan and Ciara for coaching the girls today. To Breege for all the Goodies and parents who supported the girls. A massive thanks to coaches Donna and Breege for all their hard work all year with the girls teams and well done to each player on the team as we couldn't have picked a girl of the match as each player proved a vital piece to a fantastic team of girls. Be proud of yourselves Girls 🔴⚪️🔴⚪️
