EuroSPI 2017

We decided for 2017 to strengthen the concept of building workshop communities who work on hot topics and key questions for the future. Building such core communities and network them can form a think that drives EuroSPI and Europe forward. See the new call at http://2017.eurospi.net . How will industry 4.0 work where plants, work places and humans are networked. How can we solve ASPICE, cybersecurity and safety in best practice design solutions. How can we use agile in safety critical environments. What improvement practices worked and which ones did not. How can the diversity contribute to innovation. And is innovation in the future a networked knowledge and gaming strategy. What new standards are coming out and how will they influence the development of systems, software, services. Join the knowledge communities!

I was in Prague together with the Czech partners. We plan that attendees of EuroSPi 2017 can also book sight seeing tours to Prague. At EuroSPI 2017 attendees can book single days, so it is possible to go one day to Prague and stay at the conference the rest of the days. See pics from beautiful Prague.

Innovation Vision We started in October a new EU project where innovation and creativity is entered at primary school, secondary school and university level. The idea is to keep creativity skills the whole way long through education. I will propose to include these concepts into the innovation workshops of EuroSPI 2017 in Ostrava. This project involves Slovenia, Croatia, Hungary, Austria and the materials from Itead2Enterprise (lead from Czech Republic) will be used.

I was this week in Wolfsburg and visited the VW car city. Below you see a Bugatti which is worth a few million. VW has created its own SPI manager program called SQIL (SW Quality Improvement Leader). I would suggest to promote this program through EuroSPI, especially because it is an example for a successful SPI manager implementation in Automotive. I will propose a key note for EuroSPI 2017.

Every year I bring some EuroSPI friends high up into the Austrian mountains on the Italian and Austrian border. There is a peace path along the old front line from 1st world war and you can visit huts in Austria and Italy. It should remember that we are friends and should not make war. The pictures show a part of the mountains where my Grandfather (an officer in the Austrian monarchy) was leading the defense. I hope for peace, cooperation and exchange of knowledge. Looking forward to meeting you in Graz. Richard.
