The magnificent carvings on the right hand side pulpit St. Mary's Collegiate Church, Youghal, representing St. Mark the Evangelist and symbolized by a lion – a figure of courage and monarchy. Some Christian legends refer to Saint Mark as "Saint Mark The Lionhearted". Legends say that he was thrown to the Lions and the animals refused to attack or eat him. Instead the Lions slept at his feet while he petted them. St. Mary's...so worth a visit, expecially at this time of the year. #youghal #irelandsancienteast

Followed at 2:30 p.m. at Youghal Lifeboat Station, Service for all who died at sea. All Welcome.
