This will be a fantastic opportunity for anyone interested in the fields of industry and regulatory to gain a broader perspective into the world of each area. There is such a variety in the role of the pharmacist in an industry/regulatory setting, and this event is sure to enhance our understanding of what a career in industry/regulatory can look like! Imagine you're a pharmacist. It's a seemingly quiet Saturday morning in your pharmacy when a young girl approaches you and requests the morning-after pill. You find that she is under 16 years of age and not of the legal age to be sexually active. You must decide "do I call the Gardai?". This is a case of balancing patient confidentiality against child protection, PharmSoc and LawSoc will mercilessly battle it out looking at both the ethical and legal positions. The motion is THW inform the Gardaí if a girl under the age of consent requested the morning after pill. Come see this gripping debate in Boole 2 on 23rd January at 7pm.
