Beauty Crimes Top Tips and Q&A: Exfoliate and moisturise for a few days coming up to your spray tan, or at least the night before your appointment. The best way to exfoliate is by using exfoliating glows and moisturizing organic soap! On the day of your tan, do neither, you can have a shower in the morning if you wish. Do not apply deodorant (or let us know if you did), perfume or any product on the skin and wear loose dark clothing and loose footwear, flip flops are ideal if weather allows, runners are great too, avoid boots that come up to your knee. Q: How long does a spray tan last? A: The main factor that determines longevity of the tan is how well the client has prepared the skin, if you forgot to exfoliate the tan will fade faster and can get patchy around areas where skin is ticker - knees, elbows and ankles. It will also depend on the unique properties of your skin, and how fast it regenerates, as well as the maintenance at home. Usually your tan will be perfect 5-7 days and then will slowly fade away. Q: How do I maintain my tan? A: There are a few tricks you can do: – When you are showering, avoid using sponge, just use your hands to wash the body. After shower moisturize your skin with good organic body cream or coconut oil. Moisturized skin stays tanned longer, and the tan fades most evenly. Q: When can I shower after a spray tan? A: We usually recommend you leave your tan for 8-10 hours before showering.
