Riff Raft is a brand new jazz band full of energy, fun and laid-back groove. Guitarist and singer, Bren Ó Ruaidh, came back from a trip of a lifetime to New Orleans full of inspiration. Having played with some of the best musicians in the world, and experiencing the pure joy of jazz in the Big Easy, he has brought that magic back to Cork with his new band, Riff Raft. Bren Ó Ruaidh (Guitar and Vocals) Matthew Hart (Guitar) Dave O'Keefe (Trumpet) Tony Adams (Clarinet) Ronan Hickey (Drums) The inimitable George Hart will join them on double bass for their debut in Connolly's of Leap, along with a whole lot of special guests. This is going to be a great afternoon of Traditional New Orleans Jazz, Swing, Gypsy and more. There'll be songs from Fats Waller, Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington and Django Reinhardt, with a bit of bebop and a few contemporary songs thrown into the mix. This band will get you on the dancefloor and you'll never want to leave. Get on the raft and party! 4pm till 6pm on the 18th June, €10 on the door.
