We have moved but still have the same team. We will soon be opening a new Pilates & Yoga studio as well as offering the same great physio services. Abbey Physiotherapy (formerly Ailbe) was established in Clane, Co. Kildare in 2008. It is a private practice, with a focus on the reduction of pain and correction of dysfunction to allow lasting relief from symptoms.
We treat a range of conditions from:
Musculo-Skeletal Conditions: e.g. Low Back Pain.
Sports Injuries: e.g. Muscle Tears, Sprains and Strains.
Rheumatological: e.g. Rheumatoid Arthritis, Osteoarthritis.
Postural Assessment: e.g. Postural Pains, Scoliosis.
Traumatic Injury: e.g. Whiplash.
Pain Conditions: e.g. Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy.
Pre and Post Surgery: e.g. Hip Replacement.
Rehabilitation Programmes: e.g. Anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction.
We use a range of Physiotherapy techniques from Manual Therapy to Electrotherapy (such as ultrasound, laser or interferential treatment), and develop individual exercise programs following individualized client assessment.
Our physiotherapist is a fully qualified Chartered Physiotherapist with a wealth of experience in joint mobilisation, manipulation, massage, and all aspects of modern Physiotherapy practice.

In the coming weeks we'll be looking at the issues we most commonly see in the practice, and giving practical tips on injury prevention and treatment. We'll also be looking at areas of confusion and some of the common myths surrounding aches and pains. If there's any areas you like us to address, comment below or pm us! First up, we'll take a look at the uses, and abuses, of MRIs in the treatment of back pain!

Beginners Pilates Class every Wednesday at 7pm. Pilates is excellent for injury prevention, improving core strength and stability, it increases flexibility and reduces stress levels. Send us a mail for details or to book your place.
