Winter Giving Tree

This year we are continuing the tradition of our Giving Tree. As you can see this has been beautifully decorated by our Youthreach learners. This was a great success last year and we collected loads of items in aid of St. Vincent de Paul. We have boxes beside the tree in the porch of the Modular building, so feel free to drop in with any non-perishable food and toys (in good condition please) which we can add to the collection. A representative of the SVP will collect these in the coming weeks. It would be great if we could top our collection from last year for this very worthy cause!

Dance!

We have been spending the last few weeks of our Sports programme keeping fit and having fun learning some hip hop moves with Sinead O'Brien in her fantastic studio. Sinead is a great teacher and the moves are really starting to come together after only a few hours :)

Baltinglass Outdoor Education Centre

We visited the fantastic Baltinglass Outdoor Education Centre on Monday. Our group took part in Archery, Orienteering, Kayaking and Ziplining. Thanks to all the instructors who helped out on the day and made it a really fun trip. We're looking forward to our next visit!

Occupational First Aid

Some of our staff and students recently completed a QQI Level 5 Occupational First Aid course in the centre. This was a great acheivement for our students as they had to complete a full level 5 course in the space of only 4 days. Big thanks to Velma Greene our facilitator. It was a very interesting few days and lots of fun too!

Daffodil Day 2016

Our annual collection for Daffodil Day took place last month. Over the course of 3 days we collected over €250 for this amazing charity. Many thanks to all the people in the centre community and beyond who donated so generously!

Proclamation Day Flag Raising Ceremony

On the 15th of March 2016, West Wicklow Youthreach, along with thousands of other schools and education centres across the country, held a flag raising ceremony as part of the Ireland 2016 commemorative programme.
