The ongoing struggle for disaster victims continues for months and even years after the event. Crossroads has not forgotten the tragedy in Nepal and has sent further assistance this week. Two containers will support the work of our partners in Nepal, carrying new clothing, tents, blankets, linen, household items, solar-powered phone chargers and lamps and much more. Thank you to all our Nepal Disaster Response donors! Your generosity has enabled these two shipments to further support disaster victims.
For many, take home pay in Moldova can be as little as US$1.50 a day. Last week, we were able to pack another shipping container for our partner in Moldova working with orphaned children in state run institutions. The container has been packed with clothing, shoes, heaters, blankets and other basic household goods. Thank you to all our donors who made this shipment possible.

A monumental milestone for our computer department: Crossroads’ 10,000th computer was processed this month! The computer was given to Sai Kung Community District Centre in Hong Kong’s New Territories, who are supporting 6,000 disadvantaged people. “We were really amazed with the quality of the hardware and software”, Alex, a staff member commented. The NGO received 10 computers from Crossroads to enable them to do their work more efficiently. “Some days out staff couldn’t even log into our old computers!” Thank you to all our donors that have enabled us to process 10,000 high quality computers over the last 20 years.
It was 20 years ago, today, that the floods struck Liaoning Province, in China. We received a phone call asking for support for the millions of people made homeless or in extreme need. We had no idea that this single phone call would go on to form Crossroads Foundation. We want to take today to thank all our donors, simulation participants, café and shop patrons and our many, many volunteers who have supported the work of Crossroads as we care for Hong Kong and our world in need.
This week our Global X-perience team have been at the Dally Institute of International Studies in Guangzhou where students participated in the Struggle for Survival simulation. They experienced for a few hours, the challenges of urban poverty that millions face every day.
