We congratulate Nobel prize winning Australian astrophysicist and Vice-Chancellor of The Australian National University, Professor Brian Schmidt on receiving the 2015 Niels Bohr Medal of Honour. Professor Schmidt (left) received the award and gave a guest lecture on the dark cosmos to over 100 people at Copenhagen University on 29 January.

It was a pleasure for this year's 5 Australian 'MADE' students to meet eminent Danish architect Jan Utzon (whose father designed the Sydney Opera House) on Australia day. MADE by the Opera House, or Multidisciplinary Australian Danish Exchange, is an extra-curricular program offered to Australian and Danish students of architecture, engineering and design (in the built environment) in their 2nd year of study or above. MADE by the Opera House was established in honour of the Opera House’s 40th Anniversary celebrations in October 2013 and will run for 10 years to the 50th Anniversary in 2023. Each year, five students from a NSW university and five students from a Danish tertiary institution will participate in the program in Denmark and Australia respectively.

Downunder band Fat Freddy's Drop are returning to Copenhagen to play at Falconer Salen on 3 April at 20h00. Fat Freddy’s Drop are a New Zealand seven-piece band from Wellington, whose musical style has been characterised as any combination of dub, reggae, soul, jazz, rhythm and blues, and techno.
