Dubrovnik International Bioethics Summer School
Description
DIBSS address bioethical problems in the emerging global society encouraging international debates at the intersection of health, biotechnology & medicine. Global Bioethics Initiative (GBI) New York, University of Zagreb School of Medicine and Interuniversity Center Dubrovnik (IUC) are organizing Dubrovnik International Bioethics Summer School (DIBSS) which will be held from August 5th – August 14th 2016 in Dubrovnik, Croatia.
The School is a mirror partnership project organized together with New York International Bioethics Summer School which will be held from July 11th – 22nd at Manhattan, at premises of New York Society for Ethical Culture.
DIBSS will address different bioethical problems in the context of emerging global society. The DIBSS aims at an interdisciplinary debate, especially between: clinical medicine and public health, law, philosophy, sociology and political sciences, psychology, psychiatry and behavioral sciences. Goal of the DIBSS is to provide interested students and professionals with information pertaining to different aspects of bioethical issues encouraging international debates at the intersection of health, biotechnology and medicine.
Dubrovnik International Bioethics Summer School will consist of 6 consecutive modules and two day conference:
Module 1. Bioethics in Cochrane (A): Bioethics in Bibliographic Resources and Publishing Practice (B)
Module 2. Bioethics in HIV/AIDS Surveillance
Module 3. ORPHEUS Ethics in Science
Module 4. Bioethical Aspects of Mental Illness in the Media (in partnership with Croatian Journalist Association)
Module 5. Bioethical issues in Transplantation (in partnership with Eurotransplant, Ministry of Health and Zagreb Clinical Hospital)
Module 6. Bioethics and Healthcare
