"The Dance". One of the most emotional moments for me when I'm shooting a wedding is the father/daughter and mother/son dances. This is for a couple of reasons I think. Unfortunately I wasn't able to experience that moment with my mom when I got married. Though I definitely had her in my heart and I know she was watching over me during that day, not being able to share that moment with her still hurts. Secondly, I can't help but think of my little girl and us sharing that dance with her on her special day. I know I'll be a complete mess, that's a guarantee. The absolute joy, the happy tears, the sadness knowing that "MY little girl, is no longer my LITTLE girl", the "Thanks for getting me this far on my journey of life" look that you can see in their eyes as they look lovingly at their mom or dad. So many different emotions wrapped up in a 4 minute dance. Amazing. And being able to capture that moment for my friends is a privilege I don't take lightly, and one of the reasons why I lOVE photographing weddings.
