This April we’re happy to support Autism Awareness month by partnering with The Autism Site to provide therapy for children with autism. Every 2 check-ins provides one minute of therapy to an autistic child and their family. The Autism Site provides access to incredible play therapy sessions which promote long-term and short-term memory, stimulate language, negotiation and communication skills. It also nourishes the family by relieving stress and forging important emotional bonds. Take a quick glance at The Autism Site’s Facebook page and blog to see how their therapy makes a difference in the lives of the children and their families: https://www.facebook.com/TheAutismSite/ http://blog.theautismsite.com/ The hashtag this month is #autismawareness. Thanks for encouraging everyone to check-in for a great cause!

We're so happy to announce we're no longer just a two man show!! Catherine has a ton of knowledge and experience to bring to the table, and we're so excited to be able to offer some new services, as well as more availability for Personal Training! Here is a a little information about Catherine: After years of my own fitness journey and experiencing the outstanding positive effect that exercise had on all aspects of my life I decided it was important to me to share this incredibly powerful tool with others so in 2016 I completed the Personal Fitness Trainer diploma at NAIT. Along with completing my diploma I have also become a Certified Personal Trainer through the Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology (CSEP-CPT), a Corrective Exercise Specialist through the National Academy for Sports Medicine (NASM-CES), a Golf Fitness Specialist through NASM as well (NASM-GFS) and lastly a group exercise leader specializing in Resistance Training through the Alberta Provincial Fitness Leadership Association (AFLCA). Why do you coach? I love personal training for many reasons, but am most passionate for the opportunity to share in the experience of someone crushing goals, building themselves up and feeling truly amazed by what their bodies can do! For me fitness has always been so much more than just the amount of weight I can lift or what I look like in a bikini. For me fitness is about a way bigger picture. It's about self-efficacy, confidence, self-love and a peaceful mind. It’s about wanting to eat clean food to fuel myself so I can crush goals in the gym. It’s about sharing all these awesome experiences with an awesome group of like-minded fitness enthusiasts! Why do you CrossFit? The CrossFit community is like a second family; a stronger, sweatier, chalk-covered family. Also, the sport has such a well-rounded approach to fitness that it really is the most applicable training program I’ve come across that is also fun, challenging and full of variety. Favorite Exercise Only one? Least Favorite Burpees. Favorite ‘cheat’ meal pizza. any kind. man I love pizza.
