Holidays: CLOSED THe KHS is a registered charitable animal welfare organization. We are a last resort for homeless animals in our community.
Our programs include: adoption, humane education, 24 hour emergency rescue
cruelty investigation, volunteer, and foster care.

Coco is enjoying a delicious pupcake to celebrate all the cupcake events happening this weekend. We will be at the National Cat Show at Portsmouth Olympic Harbour on Saturday and Sunday all day Don't forget Bread and Butter Bakery is having their cupcake event this weekend also. Just Fur Dogs cupcake event is on Sunday.

Isn't it AMAZING what three weeks of ear and skin medication will do for a dog in need? Poor Baxter came to the shelter suffering from a severe flea infestation and skin and ear infections. His poor body was pink and raw with open wounds. After just three weeks of treatment, Baxter got his first official groom with Just Fur Dogs yesterday (complimentary for our shelter pooch)! What a difference! The best part? We think we've found Baxter his forever home and he will be embarking on a new adventure soon!
