Tonight's 5 O’clock Hop Stop Cask Conditioned Offering is Winter Ale (*Special Batch: Brewed w/ Vanilla Beans) from Great Lakes Brewery (Toronto, ON). Style: Winter Warmer ABV: 6.2% IBU: 22 What is a Winter Warmer? Generally, these beers feature a big malt presence, both in flavour and body. The colour ranges from brownish reds to nearly pitch black. Hop bitterness is generally low, leveled and balanced. Alcohol warmth is not uncommon

(Vankleek Hill, ON) Style: Scottish Gruit/ Ancient Herbed Ale ABV: 6.6% IBU: 17 IBU Fun Facts: The Bog Water is part of Beau’s Brewery’s Gruit Series which takes inspiration from centuries-old brewing tradition. The Bog Water is brewed using hand-harvested organic bog myrtle (a deciduous shrub native to Northern Ontario and Québec.) in replace of hops!

Style: English Brown Ale ABV: 5.0% IBU: 24 IBU Fun Facts: Described as Wellington Brewery's most celebrated beer, the County Dark is modelled after traditional English brown ale wherein the brewers have used roasted malts and English hops to create a beer of “timeless distinction” Wellington is one of the first modern brewers in North American to produce traditional cask-conditioned ales!

Tonight's 5 O’clock Hop Stop Cask Conditioned Offering is Smashbomb Atomic IPA (*Special Batch* Dry Hopped with Summer Hops) from Flying Monkeys Craft Brewery (Barrie, Ontario)! Style: American India Pale Ale ABV: 6.0% IBU: 70 IBU Fun Facts: Made with Citra & Cascade Hops, this India Pale Ale is characteristic of a “Westcoast Style” IPA as the hop varietals are sourced from – you guessed it – the West Coast! Flying Monkey’s will be dry hopping this batch of Smashbomb Atomic IPA in order to pass on more interesting aromatic features in the brew.
