Last night at the Castlemaine volunteers and supporters Christmas party (around 80) Bruce Wadsworth from BAE Systems presented the ship with a historical piece of equipment for measuring engine horsepower and also a "docking board" used when ships went into the Alfred Graving dock at Williamstown dockyard.

Sadly our neighbour "Little Gem" at Gem Pier, Williamstown sank the other day. Hopefully she will be salvaged.
HMAS Castlemaine Museum Ship will feature on "Postcards" (Victoria) this Friday, 2 September 2016 for those of you interested. Looking forward to more people becoming aware of our historic ship.

This picture shows the sad state the Castlemaine was in alongside South Wharf in Melbourne when handed over to the volunteers in 1974.

We were happy today to host Glen Moriarty from Postcards (Channel 9). He toured the ship for approx. 2 hours filming. We will keep you posted when it will be aired (approx. 2 to 4 weeks from now).
