Rowes Bay Golf Club The Rowes Bay Golf Club is uniquely situated between one of Townsville's beachfronts and Conservation Parklands. Rowes Bay has a challenging 18 hole championship course, measuring 6155 metres from the tournament tees and also boasts Townsville's only Par 3 Course which is perfect for the social golfer or for anyone wanting to get in a quick 9 holes before or after work.

Project Booyah Townsville was the worthwhile recipient of the Rowes Bay Women's Charity Day proceeds for 2017, and the Rowes Bay Women were presented with the QLD Police Service Certificate of Appreciation at the Graduation of young men 2017 last night. Booyah is a police run leadership and mentor program that utilies adventure based learning, decision making/problem solving exercises, resilience training, policing strategies and family inclusive principals to help young people aged 15-16 years to make better life choices. Booyah relies on the community to be involved in supporting this project. www.projectbooyah.com.au Rowes Bay Women continue to support this project by providing necessary work related clothing, toiletries & other essentials.
Rowes Bay's Bradley Toplis knew he had won the 2017 Men's Club Championships back in September, but late this afternoon at Rowes Bay's "Presentation of Major Trophies", Bradley topped it off by winning not only the Wednesday "Golfer of the Year" Award, but also Rowes Bay's Men's "Golfer of the Year" Award......congratulations Bradley! Bradley also manged to win the Men's Single Match Play for A Grade as well as being the A Grade R/up in the Monthly Medal Finals.........what a year Bradley! Congratulations also to all winners during the year! Our "Celebrations of 50 years of golf in 2017" has certainly been one to remember, an outstanding year!
Rowes Bay ladies held their annual "Presentation of Trophies" evening last night, and to continue with our "Celebrating of 50 years of golf in 2017" the theme was "50's-60's". It was certainly a "night of nights" for Charlene Borninkhof taking out the prestigious "Golfer of the Year" Award, kindly sponsored by SportsMed NQ. Charlene also won the A Grade Club Championship trophy, the President's and Captain's Trophies for Thursdays and the Pat Bowe Senior's Champion Award. Congratulations Charlene! "Order of Merit" Thursday Award went to Di Grimshaw with Shae Carnes winning the "Order of Merit" Award for Saturdays. Thank you Roberts Nehmer McMcKee Lawyers for your loyal support of our "Swing with Bling" event. In conjunction with the Rowes Bay ladies "Pink Ribbon Classic" played a few weeks earlier, just over $900.00 was raised for the "tee off for breast cancer research program" for the Breast Cancer Institute of Australia. Thank you to all who participated, it certainly was a great day!

As most of you know Rowes Bay Golf Club has been "celebrating 50 years of golf in 2017" and what a year it has been! On Saturday 4th November we again celebrated, to the day, 50 years ago when 78 players unofficially opened and played the first 9 holes at the Rowes Bay Country Club as it was known then - 4/11/67. We sincerely thank our Townsville Mayor Cr Jenny Hill, Golf Queensland Board Member Pat Twomey (photo), Ted Lindsay, previous Rowes Bay Golf Professionals Bronco Johnston, Alan Creighton (photos) and David Lord (photo) plus previous Rowes Bay Presidents & Captains for attending, it was indeed a wonderful day. Thanks also to our sponsor, Snap Insurance Group, Musician Larry Thomson and Bagpiper Greg Pritchard for their support. The Men's winner on the day was Scott Harrison, with Div 1 winner George Gatis, Div 2 Len Maluga. Women's winner Jo Purdon with r/up Lyn Townson. A special thanks also to Alan Creighton & Barry Peak for cutting the "Celebration Cake" along with a toast to the" Past, Present and the Future" of the Rowes Bay Golf Club.
