Most students are aiming to complete the 40 Piece Challenge in a year. Lewis has already played 40 pieces. The first student in my studio to get this certificate this year! Congratulations Lewis! A fantastic effort!

What a wonderful time with my students at the Mid Year Concert! Most students took up the "Pirate, Dragon or Space" Challenge where students need to complete a series of activities, not only for performing but also to develop a broader range of musical skills. They choose a theme character or name and as each activity is completed, their icon or name goes into the appropriate section. Many are also aiming to complete the 40 Piece (in one year) Challenge initiated by composer/teacher supreme. Elissa Milne! The Pirate Challenge was an idea coined by amazing teacher Thembi Shears to encourage musical practice of all sorts with heaps of fun!
