Pangula Mannamurna - Tackling Indigenous Smoking in the Limestone Coast
Description
The Tackling Indigenous smoking team are part of Pangula Mannamurna clinc services in Mount Gambier. We work to prevent, reduce and cease tobacco use. Pangula Mannamurna Aboriginal Corporation (PMAC) provides a comprehensive range of health and wellbeing services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people across the Limestone Coast.
Tackling Indigenous Smoking (TIS) is a new program. We aim to raise awareness of the health effects of smoking and provide information and support to those wishing to cut back or quit. We also assist in interactive information sessions and activities to prevent the uptake of smoking.

My name is Dani, I am one of the Tobacco Action workers at Pangula Mannamurna Aboriginal Corporation. I am a proud Peramangk woman. I had my first cigarette at 10 years old and picked it up from there. I have suffered from asthma for my entire life some attacks put me in a serious condition in hospital on multiple occasions. I chose to give up the smokes due to my health. It is a struggle to kick the habit, yet so worth it. Come say hi, have a yarn and a cuppa and we will work out how we can help you cut down or quit completely. I am here Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.
