Our new workshop is taking shape as the clients come knocking on the door... Great traction this week and some interesting news from TAFE. While discussing the placement of one of our apprentices in the Lidcombe TAFE I had a discussion with the head of Cabinetmaking. I was interested to learn that this year has seen the highest intake on record of first year apprentices in cabinetmaking being enrolled into TAFE. The facility there has recently undertaken a 7 Million dollar upgrade and is wonderful training facility for the apprentices. The only cloud on this horizon is the fact that all but a very small percentage are coming from the ' kitchen sector ', which gives me concern for their future as the commercial apartment and housing sector come off the boil.
