The Sustainability Learning Centre, is based at
Hobart College, 50 Olinda Grove, Mt Nelson.
The SLC is owned and managed by the Department of Education. Tasmania’s Sustainability Learning Centre is an innovative and visionary purpose built education facility, that offers science and sustainability programs both on and off-site. It is situated adjacent to prominent reserves near the Hobart College campus at Mt Nelson, Tasmania, amongst 65 hectares of bushland which is habitat for a number of threatened species.

Huonville High was one of 14 schools from around the world competing for the Global High Schools Zayed Future Energy Prize, which aims to inspire future generations "to be responsible, sustainable citizens".
