Chopper Muay Thai
Description
Chopper Muay Thai prides ourself on being a niche Muay Thai gym in Canberra, focusing on how we can best help you achieve your ambition. We have combined and enhanced a mixture of traditional Muay Thai and Dutch K1 kickboxing styles. Muay Thai is a combat sport utilising eight limbs including fists, legs, knees, and elbows. K1 is a fast pace combat sport which focuses on aggressive boxing with powerful kicks and knees. Chopper Muay Thai combines these two styles to give you a training and martial art skill set that offers you a unique and fast-paced style of Muay Thai.
The Trainer:
Gaz ‘Chopper’ Rees has been studying martial arts since 1998 and has sought for the finest and toughest training experiences at some of the worlds most distinguished Muay Thai and Brazilian jiu-jitsu gyms, including Mejiro Gym in Amsterdam, Golden Gloy & Sityodtong Gym in Thailand and the Carlson Gracie Jiu-jitsu School in Brazil.
Gaz started fighting professionally in 2004 and has fought worldwide. Some of his greatest achievements have been when he represented Australia in the IFMA 2012 World Championships in Russia, winning a silver medal in the Presidents Cup in Iran and winning by KO in Australia’s greatest Muay Thai tournament, Evolution. Accordingly, he is also a former South Pacific, Australian and State titleholder.
Gaz is dedicated to passing on his wealth of knowledge to passionate students of all levels. His training in martial arts and fitness has brought extensive knowledge and experience, allowing him to customise challenging, technique-focused, and simple curriculums that create strong, smart, and safe athletes.
