I am a big fan of getting strong in the pushup due to the wide range of benefits that they offer (when done well). #Longevity, shoulder health and better #posture simply name a few. This video will help you to perform them with confidence and quality in your home or at the #gym. Pushups are an extremely versatile #exercise that can be done anywhere, anytime. Start integrating them into your day/week and see the health benefits for yourself. How to develop true core strength (bracing sequences) and alleviate lower back pain
How to develop true #core strength and prevent lower back pain! Some of you may not know what true core strength is or how to develop it? Hopefully this short video will give you a brief guide on how you can actually achieve this and get rid of your #lowbackpain forever. Most people I see in the #gym target their core specifically far too much by doing loads of sit-ups, crunches, excessive twisting and anything else that gives them the feeling that they are working their core muscles. Unfortunately, while these exercises can be good when included as part of a holistic and well balanced training program, if done in excess or performed incorrectly they can put you at unnecessary risk of further back issues. Why? Well the core is much more complex than we think and we often underestimate what actually is going on down there. The core involves 4 sections. 1. The pelvic floor 2. The rectus abdominus (6 pack) 3. The multifidus (low back) 4. The diaphragm Unless you are training all of these and balancing them out evenly then you are likely to have an imbalance and this will lead to sub-optimal positions for your pelvis and spine. In other words, your posture will suffer. In this video I talk about a simple technique that I use with my clients called a bracing sequence. If done correctly and regularly this simple technique that takes no more than a few minutes per day can help alleviate lower back pain and help you engage your core musculature with all the movements that you perform during the day. Think of it as a postural reset that you can do anywhere, anytime. True core strength will be developed over time if you have the patience and discipline to use it regularly. So start small.
