Here’s a homeowner tip to make sure your stay warm during this winter storm! To ensure your heat pump continues to operate effectively during heavy snowfall, you can set your thermostat to the “emergency heat” setting. It is also always a good idea to remove any snow from your outdoor unit, as well as in a 2 foot radius around the piece of equipment. If you have a gas fired heater and the exhaust pipe is close to the ground, make sure that there is no snow blocking it. Your furnace may stop operating if this pipe is blocked by fallen snow.
