Whittier Art Gallery
Description
Established 1939, the home of the non-profit Whittier Art Association, offering arts education to all ages and supporting local artists. The Art Association built the gallery in 1939 on donated land. For 75 years we have offered continuous monthly exhibits of the best available art work free to the public. The Whittier Art Gallery is one of the few galleries in California where the land and building is owned by the art association. We are a non-profit 501(C)3 that is supported by membership dues, gallery rental fees, sales of art work and donations.

Artist Statement I began working with clay 20 years ago and it was love at first sight. Of all the forming techniques, I prefer the freedom of hand-building best. I I do not seek perfection in my work, but rather, an expression of myself, of the joy within me. Often, I will leave finger marks or bits of bare clay showing in a piece to show the beauty of the clay itself. Many of my pieces show my inner playfulness and will often tell a story. \par My work, same as my life, is ever evolving
