Action alert: Please call your Senator and encourage them to vote against SB 2083. Read this latest update from the Texas Craft Brewers Guild below, and find your Senator at http://www.fyi.legis.state.tx.us/Home.aspx. This bad bill favors distributors over craft breweries and places unnecessary restrictions on our growth. Craft breweries are creating jobs, tax revenue and tourism in small towns across Texas -- including Taylor -- and we should continue growing the craft beer industry instead of placing limits on our growth. The distributors have a well-funded lobbying machine at the Capitol, but we have people power, so let's share our voices with our elected officials. IMPORTANT NOTE: Please be respectful when you call your elected officials -- they and their staff members work long hours with low pay and are trying their best to balance the needs of many constituents on a variety of different issues, so please be polite when explaining the benefits of supporting local Texas craft breweries. Taylor Third Thursdays: Whitestone Tap Takeover

Every Third Thursday, downtown Taylor businesses join together for a full evening of food, beer, music, art, movies and shopping. This month we're hosting a tap takeover featuring our friends from Whitestone Brewery, and they're handing out free pint glasses! TEXAS BEER CO SCHEDULE: 4 PM - Happy Hour 5 PM - Food provided by Davis Grocery & Barbq 6 PM - Music with Sam Dowdy & the Taylor Made Band 8 PM - Music with Rian C. The Taylor Artist Guild is hosting their latest art exhibt at their TAGat120ART gallery next door to our brewpub. The Howard Theatre is across the street from our brewpub, and they'll be showing their latest movies. Pairing: Shrimp Campechana with Tejas Clara

Chef Krystal Scruggs is cooking up another TBC Wednesday food & beer pairing. This May 17th we'll have a Tex/Mex menu with shrimp campechana, Mexican street corn and mini chicken tacos paired with the Tejas Clara Lager from Big Bend Brewing Company. 5/17 Schedule: 4:00 PM - Happy hour 6:00 PM - Tex/Mex food & beer pairing $10 - Gulf Shrimp Campechana Spicy and vibrant mix of grilled shrimp, onions, tomato and four chilies! Served with warm tortilla chips. $5 - Mexican Street Corn Fire roasted corn on the cob topped with a cream sauce, ground red chili and cheese. $5 - Mini Chicken Tacos Slowly cooked, all natural chicken in a mini corn tortilla with a creamy drizzle and shaved purple cabbage. $3 - Tejas Clara Lager This is the flagship beer from Big Bend Brewing Company.
