The Dance Factory
Description
The Dance Factory is a community-oriented studio dedicated to providing quality training in a fun and supportive environment for kids and adults. The Dance Factory is a vibrant, inclusive dance studio conveniently located in downtown Springfield next to the town library. Founded in 1984 by Susan Hagan, the studio boasts five experienced teachers and offers classes in ballet, pointe, modern, jazz, hip hop, tap, and creative movement for preschoolers through adults. Emphasis is on quality technical training while encouraging a love and passion for movement.
Performances include an annual spring recital in May for all students as well as December performances of The Nutcracker, a fundraiser for arts programs in public schools that has contributed over twenty thousand dollars to such programs. Teachers Susan Hagan, Kate DeRosia, Pam Donnelly, Ashley Hensel-Browning, and Dana Blake thoroughly enjoy dancing with you and your little ones during the school year and summer sessions.

Thank you everyone for another fantastic year at The Dance Factory! The recital was wonderful and could never of happened without the dedication of students, parents, and teachers. Besides the talent of all, I really appreciate the support that students give to each other. You guys ROCK!! ❤️Kate DeRosia

I'm honored to be part of our Dance Factory community and so in awe of all the performances and community support tonight at our spring recital (could we have fit anymore people in that audience?!). The dancers, families, and fellow teachers fill me with gratitude and teach me so much every year. The love and kindness backstage is enough to heal the world, friends! Thank you for an incredible year of growth, engagement, passion, and kindness. Watching our littlest dancers in the junior recital is a burst of sunshine as well. What an inspiring community! So much love, Ashley

There will be a helper downstairs during the performance to be with younger children and many of our older dancers help out as well. Parents, please remind your children that it’s important to respect the space we are using and listen to the teenagers and adults around them. These people are key as the teachers will need to be backstage during the performance. Teenagers, all costume changes must take place in the changing room or backstage – Not in hallways. Please do not play with anything in the classrooms we are using and please DO NOT use the elevator. Walk slowly to keep your bodies safe and please clean up after yourselves after the performance. Please leave valuables at home! Most importantly, enjoy each other and the experience of putting on such a wonderful and exciting production! The Dance Factory Recital is a true community event where each dancer and class can perform their hard work from throughout the past year. Be there for each other to help when needed. Everyone is important in this production. Have a wonderful show!
