Introducing our new class: Chair Yoga! Chair yoga is a gentle form of yoga practiced sitting in a chair or using one for support. With the help of a chair, you’ll be able to practice yoga with the same benefits of increased circulation, balance, flexibility, range of motion, and stress reduction. Yoga is recommended for those with arthritis, osteoporosis, carpal tunnel syndrome, chronic fatigue and those with limited mobility. In 1988, President Ronald Reagan signed a proclamation constituting National Senior Citizens Day. The day was intended to applaud older adults’ contributions throughout history and in present-day America. “For all they have achieved throughout life and for all they continue to accomplish, we owe older citizens our thanks and a heartfelt salute,” said President Reagan. “We can best demonstrate our gratitude and esteem by making sure that our communities are good places in which to mature and grow older.”
