Village Awarded Illinois Energy Now Grant For Streetlight Replacement The Village was recently awarded a grant of over $11,000 to replace all of its remaining mercury vapor and high pressure sodium street lights with energy efficient LED lights. Village President Robert J. Nunamaker stated, “we’re thrilled that Fox River Grove’s project was selected for funding. We’ve been looking to replace our inefficient street lights for some time. Not only will this project save the Village money going forward, but it nearly pays for itself as almost all of the project costs will be reimbursed.” The project is being funded by Illinois Energy Now (IEN), an energy efficiency program sponsored by the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity. The Metropolitan Mayors Caucus administers IEN funding to public agencies through its Public Sector Energy Efficiency Program.
