Our Tuesday Night, Spadafora Men's softball league started last night after a two week rain delay. The first game at the 6 pm slot put two very familiar teams in a head to head matchup that looked like the possibility of the infamous Oneida Indians running away with it early. But the veteran poise of Hog/s Brigade withstood the early hitting display by the Indians and finally got their bats going in the late innings to pull away and win in typical Hog's fashion with the run rule in effect. Final score: Hog's Brigade-17 Oneida Indians-5 The 7 pm game was one for the ages, both returning teams battling it out with hit after hit, run after run. Being the first game of the season, the gloves were not particularly in mid-season form as Bio-Active folded late on a few throwing errors letting the speedy slingers of Heavy Hitters capitalize and take the win. Final Score: Heavy Hitters-14 Bio-Active-10 Our first double header of the season went off at 8 pm pitting some young guns against some experienced yet seemingly ageless men. LeMoyne Interiors entering the league for the first time just could not get their bats in gear while Big Cheese/Extreem came out hot and firing on all cylinders. BCE controlled the game until the final inning with a desperate comeback by LeMoyne only having it crushed by a line drive missle that the pitcher snagged out of mid-air and doubled it up at 1st base for the final out. Final Score: Big Cheese/Extreem - 12 LeMoyne Interiors - 9 LeMoyne Interiors then had to play back to back games, this time against I'd Hit That. LeMoyne seemed like they still had the bats going and took an early 3-0 lead. But the resilient and quick feet of the boys were too much for the newest team in the league. They had an answer for everything LeMoyne threw at them and took the game over in the 2nd and never looked back. Final Score: I'd Hit That - 13 LeMoyne - 8 Next weeks schedule 6 pm - Heavy Hitters @ Big Cheese/Extreem 7 pm - Heavy Hitters @ Oneida Indians 8 pm - Oneida Indians @ Bio-Active 9 pm - Hog's Brigade @ LeMoyne Interiors
