Hope Dining Room
Description
Hope Dining Room serves hot noontime meals at no charge to Newark, DE, area residents in need. Location: Kingswood United Methodist Church on Marrows Rd. Volunteers from churches, service organizations and restaurants prepare and serve lunches, typically once a month for each group. We serve over 16,000 hot lunches per year. Hope Dining Room's serving mission is made possible by the generous donations of financial gifts, food and time by various religious organizations, civic groups, businesses and individuals in the greater Newark area. More good news!!! Hope Dining Room received Grant-in-Aid from the State of Delaware for Fiscal 2017.
A recent grant received from the New Century Club has allowed us to buy and install a new ice machine into the kitchen just in time for the hot days of summer. Thank you New Century Club!!! It was used for lunch for the first time on Wednesday June 29.
