Description
VLB Texas State Veterans Cemeteries are special resting places, close to home, where friends, family and fellow Texans can honor Texas Veterans. The Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery initial phase of development contains 31 acres, and 6,190 gravesites. The cemetery will be expanded as needed and will eventually be capable of providing a final resting place for more than 25,000 Veterans and family members.

We are very sad to report that Army Air Corp and U.S. Army Veteran Jesus Martinez passed away at our Alfredo Gonzalez Texas State Veterans Home in McAllen at the age of 105. Mr. Martinez served for over 10 years and will be buried at the Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery. Thank you for your service sir. Rest easy now ❤️

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: We are looking for volunteers to help us prepare wreaths for the Wreath Laying Ceremony on December 16. We will gladly accept any assistance Monday - Friday from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. this week and next week. The cemetery is located at 2520 S. Inspiration Rd, Mission, TX 78572. On Thursday, November 9, Team Red White and Blue will be placing American Flags at each gravesite beginning at 5 p.m. The public is invited to come out and help. On Saturday, November 11, we will hold our official Veterans Day ceremony beginning at 10 a.m. Please come out to one or both events if you are able.
