Today marks 19 years since the passing of Dale TenHaken of the Manitowoc Police Department, whose end of watch was September 23rd, 1998, during a traffic stop. He made the ultimate sacrifice during his final patrol. His duty was to serve, our duty is to remember. May you rest in peace, Officer TenHaken.

Let's talk LEAF PICKUP! The City of Manitowoc Leaf Pickup is scheduled to begin on October 2nd. For everything you need to know:
South 10th Street and Dewey Intersection: Since this is a significant reconstruction that has the potential to cause back-up of traffic, please be aware: The reconstruction of this intersection started yesterday, and Vinton Construction Company of Manitowoc will be the prime contractor for the project. There are detour routes established. Eastbound traffic on Dewey Street will be detoured onto South 14th. Southbound traffic on S. 10th Street will continue to be detoured onto westbound Viebahn Street to S. 14th St. and then continuing northbound on S. 14th to Dewey or to Grand Ave. depending on your destination. Northbound traffic on S. 10th will continue to be detoured onto westbound Viebahn St. to S. 14th and then continuing northbound on S. 14th to Dewey St. or to Grand Ave. depending upon your destination. It is anticipated that the intersection work will be completed and reopened to traffic on or about October 18th. Additional information, including the detour map can be found on the link below:
At last night's Common Council meeting, the ever-excitable Tom Drill made the disbursements from his recent ShowTime fundraiser! Those receiving funds include The Haven, Manitowoc-Two Rivers Y, Salvation Army, Pinecrest Historical Village, Friends of the Manitowoc Fire Department, Association of Developmental Disabilities, and Prevent Suicide Manitowoc.
