It's National Carbonara Day and it's not too late to celebrate! In case you needed another reason to have carbonara for dinner, today is the first year in nearly three years that Cafe Porta Alba has the carbonara back on its menu on National Carbonara Day! We hope to see you tonight!

Cafe Porta Alba will be closed tomorrow for Pasqua (Easter). Enjoy some fun facts about Pasqua! Typically, lamb is eaten on Pasqua. Many areas throughout Italy also have their own specialty bread used to celebrate the day. Pasqua is the biggest holiday in Italy, only second to Christmas. Children typically receive large chocolate eggs that are decorated and filled with treats! Pasquetta is celebrated on the day following Easter and usually consists of games and other festivities. Buona Pasqua!!!

Today is International Women's Day! As always, Cafe Porta Alba is joining the celebration and offering all women a free glass of Gragnano today. We hope to see you for lunch or dinner!

Our current special is a "pasta a modo mio" with a lemon and pepper sauce, arugula, huge shrimp, and shaved parmesan!

We are positive many of you will recognize this dish. When we recreated our pasta menu we removed the carbonara. Over the last year, many of you expressed extreme sadness over the loss of this creamy, pancetta, and pea filled dish. Well, the carbonara is officially back on the menu at Cafe Porta Alba and it is here to stay!

Our newest special is a potato pizza - a classic Roman pizza! We start off with a base of smoked buffalo mozzarella, top that with sliced potatoes and pancetta, and finish it all with coarse sea salt and rosemary!
