Dorothy Lydia Wendt passed away at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital on Wednesday, September 6 at the age of 75. Dorothy is predeceased by her father Adolph Wednt, mother Lydia Wendt, and sister Charlotte Wendt. Dorothy was born in Torrington, CT, on September 19, 1941. She graduated from Torrington High school in 1959 and went on to work as a book keeper for fifty years at Wescon Automotive. Dorothy and her family were one of the founding members to help build Friendship Baptist Church in Litchfield CT. She served faithfully for over 30 years as the church treasurer not only for Friendship but also for the Western Connecticut Baptist Association and Waterbury Baptist Ministries. She also served traveling with Builders for Christ to help plant and support other church construction and had a passion for supporting missionary work. Dorothy was a big Nascar fan and loved Hallmark Christmas movies, painting, reading and playing the piano. Dorothy is lovingly remembered by her many friends and church family of Friendship Baptist Church of Litchfield, CT A memorial service will be held at Friendship Baptist Church, 441 Torrington Rd, Litchfield, CT on Monday, September 11, 2017 AT 11:30AM. Burial to follow after the service at Hillside Cemetary, 76 Walnut St, Torrington, CT . A reception will take place at Friendship Baptist Church following the burial. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made for Lottie Moon Missions make payable to Friendship Baptist Church, PO BOX 1482, Litchfield, CT 06759.

Please welcome FBC’s newest ministry intern: Tina White! Tina has earned two bachelor degrees: the first in Crisis Counseling and the second in Christian Counseling. She has also earned a Master’s degree in Human Services: Addictions and Recovery Counseling, and is working on her second Masters degree through Liberty University. Tina will be spending her internship primarily supporting our Celebrate Recovery program. Her goal is to come alongside those who are hurting and guide them through their trial to reap the blessings waiting on the other side. She is a widow with 5 children and 7 grandchildren; some that will be taking part in our AWANA program this fall. If you run into her, please give her a warm greeting and welcome her to the FBC family!
