The Amazing Race for Charity presented checks totaling $32,360 last night to some amazing local charities. LifeStream Behavioral Center Foundation received two checks; a check for $6,060 to The Open Door - our homeless drop in center in Eustis, and another for $2,200 to LifeStream Foundation for serving as the ARC's fiscal agent. Sherry Wilson Olszanski, Kristina Creech and others have done an amazing job over the past three years to ensure all of the net proceeds from each race were distributed to select local charities. Congratulations to all charities who received funding, and to the Amazing Race for Charity, Inc. Board of Directors on receiving your IRS 501c3 charity designation, and Florida DOACS #. We wish you well and look forward to collaborating with you in the future!

Thank you to all those who came to our First Annual Children's Breakfast of Hope. We want to especially thank our sponsors: Healthy Living Magazine and United Way of Lake and Sumter Counties. Thank you to our speakers, Mayor Robert and Tina Morin. Attendees learned about LifeStream's child welfare contracted programs through Kid Central, Inc., listened to a foster families story, and watched a short film regarding the emotional impact of foster care from a child's perspective. Attendees also found out ways that they could make a difference and become more involved in the lives of the children we serve. If you are interested in partnering for hope and help for our children, please contact us for more information at 352-315-7527. May is Mental Health Awareness month and National Foster Care month

Sharing from our friend and partner, Joe Ziler of Kevco Builders Inc.: Got a call this morning from my buddy Dave Merrill who is going to do a fundraiser for Mike Ziler and LifeStream Behavioral Center on May 21st (which happens to be my birthday). He will be playing at the Lake Harris Hideaway that day. Go out and see Official: Dangerous Dave, Dan Kelyman (another Pittsburgh fan!) and the whole gang and help a local charity for good cause. Your generosity will be used to save lives in our local community and all money will be donated to LifeStream. Thanks - Joe

The WIN Clinic participants attended a wellness activity last Saturday at Lake Hiawatha for Earth Day and helped to clean up the lake. Giving back is an important part of wellness and gives you an opportunity to be a part of your community.
