This is the official page for Beacon College. Beacon College is a liberal arts college exclusively for students with learning disabilities and ADHD. Founded in 1989, Beacon College is the first accredited college in the U.S. that awards bachelor degrees exclusively to students with learning disabilities. The current enrollment is 270. The college serves students with specific learning disabilities, ADHD and high-functioning autistic-spectrum disorders.

A: I plan to major in human services with a minor in history. Q: Why Beacon College? A: Beacon College helps students who learn differently like me. I love how Beacon has a high graduation rate — higher then most colleges. What [ultimately] helped me choose the college is how small the college is and [how] you will get one-on-one attention from your professors. Q: Who’s your favorite author? A: Mary Pope Osborne. She is the writer of the children's book, The Magic Treehouse. Q: Who’s your favorite singer/band? A: 5 Seconds of Summer and One Direction Q: What’s your all-time favorite movie? A: "McFarland, USA," a movie in which a track coach inspires his students to succeed against all odds. Q: Do you have a nickname? A: Everyone calls me is Lulu. Q: Do you have any hobbies? A: I have a lot of hobbies, but my top ones are singing, writing, and photography. Q: What do you bring to the Beacon community? A: I bring a positive attitude, willingness to work, and I am ready for the next phase of my life.

2nd Annual Beacon College Navigators 5K

The 2nd Annual Beacon College Navigators 5K Run/Walk will benefit students at Beacon College, a nonprofit, private school noted as the first higher-education institution accredited to award bachelor's degrees primarily to students with learning disabilities, ADHD and other learning differences, where 70 percent of students graduate within four years and better than 80 percent within six months of graduation find worthy work or pursue post-graduate education.
