I learned from the best on the planet.  Our lineage is straight from the creator of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Grandmaster Helio; passed on to Master Pedro Sauer, Rickson Gracie’s Childhood friend and one of the first Brazilians to master Gracie Jiu-jitsu; passed on to Professor Allen Hopkins one of the first Americans to earn a Gracie Jiu-jitsu Black Belt and the technical director of Master Sauer’s Association.  All of this combined knowledge and that of the numerous other Jiu-jitsu Legends I have studied with, Grandmaster Relson Gracie, Grandmaster Alvaro Berreto, Master Royce Gracie, Professor Kid Peligro, Chad Pittman,   John Blanchi, Allen Baker, Matt Strack,   Paul Sizemore, Mike Diaz, Professor Todd Wheeler, Billy Dowey, Jason Culbreth, Brian Clark, Professor Shaun Weaver, Jorge Jimenez and many more, I share openly with all my students.  I teach my students to be the best at whatever they want to do, from MMA, Sport Jiu-jitsu, No Rules Fighting (Vale Tudo), and Self Defense, to living a happy and healthy lifestyle through safe, fun, exciting, and dynamic exercise.  I am Associated, Affiliated, and Certified to teach all of the skill sets I have describe.

*Philosophy:

        Safety:  At Gracie Jiu-Jitsu of the Upper Valley our number one goal is total safety.  We never want any of our students to be injured while training at the school.  Further we never want any of our students to be injured outside of the school!  Our curriculum will teach students in a safe, simple, and effective manner how to be safe in any situation!  

   Cleanliness: Part of safety is cleanliness.  This is another principle that all our students will learn.  The school is cleaned multiple times each day to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness are met.  We also teach our students to stay clean and well groomed when they attend classes.  By the constant practice of cleanliness at our school students will be motivated to practice cleanliness outside of the school.  
   Discipline:  Having a disciplined and structured school allows the school to be run in an efficient and effective manner for our students.  We have a goal based incentivized program where students will have clear objectives with clear paths to reach these objectives!  The school also has a rules list.  Students learn and obey the rules of the school in order to promote this disciple.  We teach our students to listen and learn from the school’s instructors.  When an instructor is talking the students will not talk, there will be time for questions after initial instruction.  Our students are encouraged to take the discipline they learn inside of our school and apply it to their lives outside of our school (Work, School, and at home).  
   Respect:  The Instructors at Gracie Jiu-Jitsu of the Upper Valley Show respect to everyone inside the school and outside the school!  We teach our students to do the same.  New students will respect everyone from instructors to the other new students.  All new students will be introduced to the current students and instructors.  All students will be welcomed to the Gracie Jiu-jitsu of the upper valley team!  Students and instructors will work as a team together to create a positive environment of learning and not competition.  Competition will be reserved for events and tournaments, though Students will actively spare with each other and instructors in an effort to improve their skills.  Students will bow and shake hands with each other and instructors in physical displays of respect.  Our students will learn to be respectful in all areas of their lives.
