facebook.comCraft beer meets craft goods in our Local Craftsman Night event series. On the first Wednesday of every month, we’ll host a local artist or craftsman in our brewery. March's Local Craftsman is Lezlie Gentry, Artist. Inspired by nineteenth century black and white photographs of Native Americans, artist Lezlie Gentry’s Return of the Ancestors Project moves beyond the flatness of the portraits by bringing to light the inner lives of the individuals captured within the photographer's frame. The series is characterized by its large-scale, abstract, acrylic on canvas paintings, which are dramatically anchored by the subjects’ silhouettes. She captures the Ancestors as they really were; vibrant, expressive, and robust. The Native American Ancestors shown in her artwork are eager and ready to tell their stories and their wisdom to all who know how to listen with their heart. Check out her work and support another local independent business. https://www.returnoftheancestorsproject.com/

We'll also have the Caney Fork Food Truck parked outside today and Rosco & Co Food Truck tomorrow.
The ART Prowl 2017 starts today. Be sure to get out and explore Cookeville's talented artists and local businesses. A local glass artist, TrissyLu, will be at our place tomorrow.

John Barleycorn seemed a fitting name for our newest release - a no-holds-barred barley wine with an ABV of 14.0%. In this traditional folk song, John Barleycorn is the personification of the barley crop, the main ingredient in beer and whiskey. Originally a poem, this folk song is railing against the ludicrousness and hypocrisy of prohibition and its advocates. The story follows three men who try to “kill” Barleycorn in order work the land but in the end the work doesn’t get done “without a little barleycorn”. They couldn’t kill Sir John Barleycorn, he proved to be the strongest man at last.
Our favorite beer for a rainy fall day is our pumpkin coffee stout, the Basic B!%©#. #PSL #SoBasic
