We're so proud of all their hard work and wish them the very best as they work to meet their graduation requirements. Congratulations Sandy and Hale... welcome to the #Dogs4Diabetics family! Another very exciting day at Dogs4Diabetics... Jeannie, has been teamed in a trial-placement with Quinoa. Jeannie worked with Mark, our Founder, in the early research phases of our program, and helped with the development of our training protocols as well as co-founded D4D. Jeannie is one of the most-loved and highly respected people in the our program, and we are beyond excited for this partnership. "I am so pleased that Jeannie has been paired with such a phenomenal dog and that the time is right, in Jeannie's life, to be accompanied by a D4D dog." ~ Mark R. Help us wish Jeannie and Quinoa the best of success as they work together to become a graduating team. #D4DPlacement #JeannieandQuinoa

Dogs, ducks, geese, wind, water… oh my! D4D’s Foster Care has been taking their training and putting it to the test with lots of fun summer outings. Most recently they took our pups in training to the Martinez Marina to focus on being “proactive” handlers, and used positive reinforcement to handle the multiple distractions at once. We’re so grateful for all our Foster Care Providers, and hope you will consider joining our Foster Family… they really do get to have all the fun! Give us a call to learn more and help raise one of our life-saving pups! #GetInvolvedFoster

Everyone meet Jake... we're excited to share Jake is one of our first young clients in training to receive a Diabetes Buddy Dog. We recently launched the Diabetes Buddy Program to serve not only our youth but also those needing a dog trained with custom skills. Carrie, our Programs Manager, has been training Jake and his family one-on-one to prepare them for a dog that will help manage Jake's diabetes. This specially trained dog will alert to high and low blood sugars in the home, as well alert Jake and his family to the alarm on his continuous glucose monitor when they're out of range. Jake and his family head to the park to learn dog handling skills in public... stay tuned for exciting updates on Jake's progress!
