Immigrant Child Advocacy Project
Description
ICAP is a policy advocacy and human service program that advocates for the best interest - safety and well-being - of immigrant and refugee children who are alone in the United States. The Immigrant Child Advocacy Project (ICAP) advocates for the best interests of unaccompanied and separated immigrant, migrant and refugee children in accord with the Convention on the Rights of the Child. ICAP serves as guardian ad litem (Child Advocate) for individual unaccompanied children. ICAP also does policy advocacy at the national and local level to make the case for a change in the law to require that decision makers consider best interests in all cases involving immigrant children.
