What a great opportunity some of our HMS students had to start their summer off!

Summer 2017 Office Hours The office will be open 8:00am-1:00pm, Monday-Friday. Central and School offices will be closed on July 3rd and 4th in observance of the holiday. *The Registrar will be out of the office August 7th-15th. Please call ahead before or after that week if you would like to make an appointment.

Genius Hour 2017

During the last week of school, students in advanced science classes participated in a "Genius Hour" and concluded their work by presenting their projects.

The 8th grade dance was a success! The kids had a great time and enjoyed eating and dancing the night away. Best of luck to our 8th graders as they venture off to high school!

It was a special day at Herndon Middle School today! Some of our HMS alumni returned from Herndon High School to walk the halls one last time before they graduate and head off to do great things! We are so proud of them!

Students in Family and Consumer Sciences class had a "Chopped" competition with staff as guest judges! The food was delicious!

Next week, all students will be given the opportunity to participate in the HMS Book Swap through their English classes. This event gives all students the opportunity to choose a (new-to-them) book to keep and read over the summer. In preparation of the Book Swap we are asking for donations of gently used books, especially those appropriate for teen-aged students. Book donations can be sent into school with students or dropped off in the front office.

Yearbooks will be distributed on Thursday June 15th during all lunches in the cafeteria. Students may pick up their books during that time. There are a limited number of yearbooks left to be sold. These will be available Monday morning starting at 7:00am. Students wishing to purchase a yearbook should stop by Ms. Clements room (Photo) between 7:00-7:20 with $40 cash or check made payable to Herndon Middle School.
