Specializing in selling used sporting equipment and consignment of used sporting equipment The Bench is a marketplace for the consignment of slightly/moderately used sports equipment, specializing in youth and teen team sportswear and gear. The concept of creating a place where people could get quality, used sporting goods at a reasonable price came about from many reasons:

- Parents such as myself know what a financial burden it can be to purchase new sporting goods every few months, especially in a household with multiple children and/or multiple sports

- We all know how quickly outgrown equipment piles up and clutters areas of our homes, unused and of no value to us

- With many children, interest in the sport may be lost and the equipment may be near-mint condition as the child moves on to a different recreation

- The extensive costs of team sports can be a financial challenge for many families, but we support our children, even if the price is out of our level of affordability

- This is a community that greatly supports their youth sports. Knowing there is a place where parents can help pay it forward by making it possible for another child to play a sport they could not otherwise afford, helps keep our youth active, healthy, and unified as a community.

I have created The Bench to be a place where the gap is bridged between those who no longer have the need for their child’s sporting goods and can recoup some of the cost, while helping the next child with a chance to be a part of something that could possibly be too far out of reach financially, so they can get equipment at a reasonable price! It also helps that it is a storefront where parents do not have to rely on meeting strangers at neutral locations.
