The Village of Bartlett is once again participating in the Socktober Community Sock Drive started by the nonprofit group Socks and Souls. Why should you participate? Because every day in the United States an estimated 600,000 people live on the streets and need simple things, like socks, to help get them through the night. Socks & Souls wants to prove that even the smallest act of caring, like donating a pair of NEW socks, can help make a huge difference in the lives of neighbors who are homeless. There is a sock donation box in the multi-purpose room, just outside the council chambers, at Bartlett Village Hall, 228 S. Main Street. Socks and Souls requests that you donate new socks in all sizes and for all age groups. The collection will take place throughout the month of October during normal Village Hall business hours, Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Saturday, 9 a.m. to noon.
