facebook.com1959 Decca SRG500 stereo radiogram in for repair; as much a piece of furniture as a ‘sound system’.
I’m not in today folks (31st July), back tomorrow. Feel free to message/text in the meantime! Cheers, Mark

A 1960s Vox PA unit. This one has had the original power amp removed and replaced with a late 80s 180W amp module - which has now failed.
Not many amps around with an EL34/EL84 combination. Like to guess who the manufacturer was? No peeking on Google etc......

Hacker GP15 record player with additional stereo unit. Dating to ca. 1963, these were higher end units - better than Dansettes and much used by schools.
Heads up for you all. Due to a recent change of circumstances, Amptech Services will NOT be closing (or sold off) in a few weeks and will continue trading. I will still be at the helm and it will be business as usual. Thanks for bearing with me folks.
1960s American broadcast quality EQ unit- nothing on the web about it, but worked out which valve it needed, rigged up a temporary power supply and wired it in. Works rather well....
Thanks for all the nice comments everyone, very humbled! All I've done really is to try and repair equipment properly at a fair price.... I actually trained years ago as a radio communications engineer, and came back to electronics when I moved to the island after finishing university in 2010. I have since learnt much about pro-audio and much more about valves than I could ever have imagined! Anyway, in answer to one or two questions I've received, I'm actually heading back up to Oxford to do a PhD in October, but as I draw a line under this, I will reflect on a very fulfilling and rewarding job and take many happy memories with me. All that said, still business as usual until September at least, and ongoing if the business is sold on!
Amptech Services has been established on the Isle of Wight for over eight years now, but in September I will be returning to the mainland. Ideally, I would like to sell the business as a going concern, so if you have solid electronics experience and good customer facing skills, please get in touch. It will be business as usual for the next three months, but after that things will be winding down if a buyer for Amptech is not found. Thanks for your understanding, Mark
