Description
The Academy offers a number of classes such as jazz dance, ballet foundation technique classes, hip hop, cheerleading, gymnastics and fitness classes. The academy was first founded in 1997 by Sharon Gray (formerly Fowler).
Sharon now runs the Academy alongside her two daughters; Beckie the dance director and Lauren the Cheerleading director.
The Academy has since moved into a purpose built training venue, with a fully equipped gymnastics & cheerleading gym and dance studio.
We offer a number of recreational classes, perfect for complete beginners or individuals looking to learn without any commitment. These classes are offered to children from the age of 3 up to adults in jazz dance, commercial dance, Hip Hop, cheerleading and gymnastics. Within these classes opportunities are available to take yearly exams and partake in the annual Christmas performance.
We also have a very successful competitive program, with 9 cheerleading and 4 jazz teams in every age division. Placements for these teams are subject to tryouts which are held twice a year. These teams compete on a national scale and on occasion internationally. We are currently ranked as one of the best programs in the country after placing in the top 2 in every division entered at Nationals in 2015. The Academy now boasts over 20 national titles in both dance and cheer.
We are very proud of our Senior Jazz team who have represented the UK at the Dance Worlds in Orlando, Florida in April 2013 & 2014. They have placed 9th & 10th in the world, taking 5th in the Nations cup, the best achievement to date by any British team in the jazz division. The team are now working towards their next performance on the worlds platform after winning a fourth bid to Worlds 2016.
We also have a team of dancers jetting off to California in March 2016, to take part in a number of workshops, as well as compete against 100's of dance studios from around the globe.

All Saturday morning classes will be cancelled and we will reevaluate whether the Academy will be able to open for afternoon classes from midday onwards.
