Highland Papercuts sells one of a kind pieces of art work cut from single pieces of card and paper, from birth announcements to wedding invitations
I made my first papercut in early 2014, when inspired by the beautiful laser cut wedding invitations I found on etsy I thought i'd give it a go. I only had a pair of rusty cuticle scissors to hand, and made a total pigs ear of the whole thing. Someone more sensible (less stubborn?) might have given up here, but I was hooked.
Since then I've invested in some proper equipment including an electronic plotter. This fusing of modern technology with the traditional art of paper cutting allows me to produce one of a kind cuts that are more affordable. Each original design is hand drawn before being digitised, then after several hours of computer design it is ready to cut out the basic shape. Fine details are then cut by hand using a pair of scissors and a (very sharp) scalpel.
I welcome commissions for unique pieces, and can personalise many of my cuts with dates and names etc.

Half cut whale! Which reminds me.... Two whales walk into a bar. Bartender asks them what they'd like, first whale says: 'WWOOOOOOOOOEEEEEEEEWOAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAWOOOOO' And the second whale says: 'Damn it Gary! You're already drunk!!!!'
