facebook.comThanks to @marcusdoddtattooist for sharing a great story behind his newest tattoo. ☠️ This may be my 10th year tattooing, but this month also marks 5 years at @revolvertattoorooms. everyone at the shop bears one of these somewhere, generally because it gets put in the gnarliest place free. To some it's just a crossbones, within the shop It's a mark of respect and privilege. I'm proud to be in such a strong creative environment that motivates me daily. http://ift.tt/2E12zuF

Every Tattoo has a story – tell us yours! This March Torre Abbey Museum will host the ground-breaking exhibition TATTOO: British Tattoo Art Revealed To coincide with the exhibition, we will be collecting ‘Torbay Tattoo Tales’ – a photo documentary of Torbay tattoos and the stories behind them. Every Torbay Tattoo Tale we collect will be displayed as part of exhibition and on the Torre Abbey Museum website. How to share your tattoo story On Instagram or Twitter – simply include the hashtag #torbaytattootales in a post with your tattoo photo and story On Facebook – write a visitor post on our page with your tattoo photo and story **If your account is set to ‘private’ please message us direct with your photos and stories, as we won’t be able to see them on your feed!** At the exhibition – just come to our Torbay Tattoo Tales stand. One of our team will photograph your tattoo and capture your story before adding it to the exhibition and online archive. We hope to document 1000 of YOUR Tattoo Stories, the project blog will provide a rich social history of the Bay in 2018 for researchers and interested visitors to explore a vibrant snapshot of life here in the South Devon, your tattoo and your Tattoo Tale being part of the tangible living heritage of our place

Our next tattoo story comes from @towerslorna on Instagram - thanks for sharing! 😊💬 Got this with the tattoo voucher my colleagues gave me when I was promoted and moved to another home. I work with learning disabled adults and always dressed up as a pumpkin for Halloween. This little guy will always remind me of the fantastic time I had supporting those ladies. http://ift.tt/2Gkg6ic

#TorbayTattooTales - watch out for our announcement about this project later this week...... Let’s kick off the storytelling with this very touching post from @viks_pops - see her original post for more photos of her grandfather... #Repost ・・・ I’m so in love with my feather tattoo at the moment. I’ve always loved it, when I had it done 5 years ago it was because I was going through a tough time and I needed strength and courage which is what feathers symbolise for me, as well as freedom - there was something, or should I say someone, I needed to break free from at the time and, silly as it sounds, it helped me find the strength to do that. Little did I know I’d need even more strength a few months later when my absolutely amazing Grandad died after a long battle with dementia. Watching him disappear, both physically and mentally, before my eyes was the most heartbreaking thing I’ve ever had to go through. On Monday, it will be 4 years since the bravest man I have ever met left us to be with his wife and his son. I hope you are all happy up there (no doubt Nan is nagging as usual, so normal life has resumed for you both 😂). Not a day goes by when I don’t think about you or miss you Grandad. http://ift.tt/2DudwIO
