We have been advised that the new standard will be issued on 2nd July 2018 and that with effect from 1st January 2019 it will then be a requirement that all electrical installations designed after this date comply with BS 7671:2018, 18th Edition (2018). Once the new regulations book is launched in July, Colin will then be able to book to attend a full course to get him up to speed with the new rules before they come into full effect

Managed to make it to Linlithgow today to install a consumer unit, and made it safely home, however, the only other calls today will be ones made on foot! This will also probably be the case tomorrow as we are working in the village anyway. Take care out there folks, the roads are a tad iffy!

I now have a 'working' office area again, although we are still undergoing building work. I am collating all our reviews received over the past few weeks, and intend to do a prize draw before we take a weeks holiday on 17 March. Over this period we are still available by phone and email, but will not be providing anything other than rough estimates and intend to totally 'down tools' for the week. Its not unusual for our working day to start at 7am and finish at 9pm, so we are both in need of a rest!

Our building work is gathering pace, and given there is a fair amount of 'sparking' work involved, I've been taking pictures of the process from the start and will share some when the job is complete. Colin has had a couple of days off to deal with our own work, but will be back to work as normal from tomorrow. We are now taking bookings from 16th March onwards. Although we keep small gaps for emergencies, if you have a job that is likely to take more than a couple of hours, its safest to give us as much notice as possible

We're about to undertake some building work which will affect our office area. We hope to have a 'temporary' office area put into place over this weekend so that its business as usual for the next couple of weeks until its done, however, if you're unable to reach us by email, or if there is a delay in any paperwork please don't hesitate to get in touch.

We're delighted this week to be able to add a second letting agent to our portfolio of regular customers, and for a change Colin is doing quite a bit of work in the Falkirk area just now, but is also covering our usual West Lothian patch as well. If you're interested in having any electrical work done, don't hesitate to get in touch. If you want to read any more reviews, find us on West Lothian Trusted Trader
